Chatswood Interchange

The redevelopment of Chatswood Bus and Rail interchange involves:

  • two new rail platforms to accommodate the North Shore and Epping to Chatswood rail lines
  • a new pedestrian and rail concourse with lift and escalator access to the new platforms
  • new rail bridges constructed over existing roads to accommodate the new rail line
  • relocation and upgrade of bus interchange, taxi ranks and kiss-and-ride spaces
  • a convenience and food based retail centre of some 10,000m2
  • three residential towers containing approximately 500 units with secure car spaces, and
  • significantly improved urban design and connectivity over the currently approved scheme.

Halcrow MWT has provided ongoing detailed design advice and reporting for the bus interchanges, car park, access roads, pedestrian and bicycle facilities.  This involved liaising with the design specialists as well as stakeholders including bus companies, shop owners, RTA and Council.
